The AAMI Nominating Committee has selected two healthcare technology leaders, one of which is Walter Rosebrough, to serve on the association’s Board of Directors. The Board is made up of 18–19 representatives who are responsible for reviewing, revising, and approving strategic and business plans; establishing and approving policies; and providing guidance on strategic issues affecting the association.

“The nominees are exceptional leaders in our industry, and we are pleased to have them join us in helping chart the strategic course of the organization,” said AAMI Board Chair Phil Cogdill, senior director of quality, sterilization, and microbiology at Medtronic. “Our community is known for its leadership in advancing the safe use of health technology, and I look forward to the fresh perspectives and valuable insight these new members will bring.”

Walter M. Rosebrough, Jr., president and CEO of STERIS Corporation. Rosebrough has been an AAMI member since 2010 and serves as a board member of several other organizations, including AdvaMed, Health Insights, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

“I am honored that the Nominating Committee considered me for the position and am looking forward to collaborating with the other members of the Board and the AAMI staff to continue the work that AAMI has done for many years,” Rosebrough said. “AAMI is a very important constituent in the infrastructure of our healthcare system. I believe it is important that those of us who are significant participants in healthcare give of our time to help AAMI be successful in its mission.”

The official election of this individual will occur at the association’s annual business meeting, which will be held during the AAMI 2018 Conference & Expo in Long Beach, CA, June 1–4. His three-year term will begin immediately thereafter.

AAMI is a nonprofit organization founded in 1967. It is a diverse community of approximately 7,000 healthcare technology professionals united by one important mission—supporting the healthcare community in the development, management, and use of safe and effective healthcare technology.
