GENEVA, Switzerland -- Carestream Health, Inc., announced it has accepted an invitation from the European Society of Radiology (ESR) to join other industry leaders as a 'Supporting Member' of the institution.

"ESR is the unifying organisation for radiology and IT in all European countries, and we aim to partner with all eminent industry representatives in these disciplines," said Peter Baierl, Executive Director of ESR. "We are delighted to welcome Carestream Health as a 'Supporting Member' and look forward to strengthening the ties between our respective organizations."

Carestream Health began operations as a standalone entity in May, when Onex Corporation, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, acquired Eastman Kodak Company's Health Group in a transaction valued at US$2.35 billion. Carestream Health today is a health imaging and IT company with more than US$2.5 billion in revenue and approximately 8,100 employees worldwide. Onex, with annual consolidated revenues of US$27 billion, is one of Canada's largest corporations, with operating companies in a variety of industries, including electronics manufacturing services, aerostructures manufacturing, healthcare, financial services and more.

Carestream Health, an independent company, has licensed the Kodak brand for use with its own brands such as CARESTREAM, DIRECTVIEW AND DRYVIEW across its portfolio of leading-edge medical imaging and healthcare IT products.

The company's new association with the ESR will provide Carestream Health with a significant opportunity to showcase its innovative portfolio of world-class solutions during the 2008 European Congress of Radiology (ECR), Europe's largest radiological meeting staged under the ESR banner. ECR 2008 will be the European debut for Carestream Health and a new location within EXPO B will provide greater visibility at this important congress.

Carestream Health has additional plans underway for ECR that include a hands-on mammography workshop in conjunction with the National Expert and Training Centre for Breast Cancer Screening, Nijmegen, Netherlands. In addition, a number of eminent European speakers will be invited to present key industry topics at a Carestream Health Satellite Symposium.

"Our commitment to the European Society of Radiology provides our company with a central European platform from which to drive innovation and ultimately deliver solutions that will help customers transition to an all-digital workflow," said Claudio Villarino, Worldwide General Manager, Medical Imaging, Carestream Health. "ESR holds a unique position within the European radiology community and we are proud to be associated with an institution which operates to the highest standards and ideology."
