Washington, D.C. - With initial projections of 750 attendees, AdvaMed 2007, the inaugural MedTech conference, exceeded expectations by bringing together more than 1,100 attendees from 35 states and 25 countries. Building off of this strong first-year showing, AdvaMed announced the 2008 international MedTech conference and exhibition, AdvaMed 2008, will be held September 21-24 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

"The success of this MedTech conference designed by industry, for industry demonstrates the on-going need to address the business, policy and regulatory issues facing this dynamic, diverse and growing sector of the health care community," said Stephen J. Ubl, President and CEO of AdvaMed. More than 55 educational panels in 12 tracks took place during the three days of AdvaMed 2007, as well as 40 company presentations and more than 350 business partnering meetings as part of the business development forum. AdvaMed 2007 featured a wide range of relevant topics including: obtaining venture capital funding, assisting sales forces in creating value for MedTech buyers, Medicare coverage and reimbursement, the global marketplace, strategic outsourcing, and lessons learned by CEOs. AdvaMed 2007 also hosted a full exhibition floor with more than 30 MedTech service and technology exhibitors.
In its inaugural year, AdvaMed 2007 attracted some of Washington's leading policy makers, government officials, and notables including Former President George H.W. Bush, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez, U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, U.S. Rep.
