ORLANDO - Carestream Health, Inc. launched a new price-per-procedure payment plan for its KODAK CARESTREAM PACS platform that allows healthcare facilities to link costs with imaging volume and avoid large capital expenditures for equipment related to radiology services. This new payment offering is now available for U.S. customers.

The new payment plan sets a fixed price for each procedure. No down payment is required and there is no payment until the system becomes operational. Carestream Health works with each provider to design an equipment configuration that meets their imaging applications and volumes. Users sign contracts of three to five years that include equipment, service and support and software upgrades.

This payment plan is ideal for imaging centers, physicians' offices, clinics and smaller hospitals that prefer to make payments based on the number of procedures performed, which helps them accommodate associated fluctuations in accounts receivables. This pay-as-you-go structure also allows healthcare providers to benefit from the workflow efficiencies of PACS technology, while maintaining lines of credit for other business needs.
