Integrating the
Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)
The Patient Care Device Domain of Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) is conducting its 2008 survey until April 30, 2008. Survey responses will provide the planning and technical committees with input for building a roadmap of medical device connectivity and interoperability to meets the needs and expectations of the user and vendor communities.
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) is an initiative by healthcare professionals and industry to improve the way computer systems in healthcare share information, and to remove barriers to optimal patient care.
Physicians, medical specialists, nurses, administrators, and other care providers envision a day when vital information can be passed seamlessly from system to system within and across departments and made readily available at the point of care. The 2005 and 2006 HIMSS Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) survey results showed that more than half of respondents identified medical devices as the area in which they would like to see IHE development. This survey seeks to learn your needs and priorities to help chart the future course for patient care devices within the IHE. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
