Expanding its enterprise imaging solutions into the cardiology space, Intelerad Medical Systems has integrated the LVivo Seamless AI-based cardiac ultrasound software from DiA Imaging Analysis into its IntelePACS system.
The new addition supports IntelePACS users obtaining key measurements from echo studies and improves routine tasks and reading workflow. Running automatically on echo servers, the software selects and assesses optimal cardiac scans for clinical insights about left and right ventricle function that are hard to find visually or manually. Clinicians will be able to immediately view these findings on the CPACS viewer as secondary-capture clips-in-motion.
This will enable higher scan volumes to be read in less time, DiA CEO and co-founder Hila Goldman-Aslan told HCB News. "With a shortage of medical professionals in the imaging space, this helps echo labs maximize existing limited resources, optimize workflow and boost cost efficiency."
And because the software is vendor-neutral and automatic, it eliminates dependency, subjectivity and variability associated with both user and device brand, standardizing the image analysis process for better clinical decision-making. The integration with IntelePACS expands its reach to a wider base of echo labs.
DiA's LVivo Seamless AI-based solution selects the most optimal cardiac ultrasound scans to assess left and right ventricle function.
DiA also recently paired
it with the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit to speed up cardiac ultrasound image assessments, while retaining accuracy. Intel’s edge-to-cloud technology does this with Intel Core processors that optimize the algorithm’s processing time.
With echo lab workloads rising, Goldman-Aslan expects in the near future to "see more PACS companies joining forces with AI software companies like DiA to meet the demands of further automation in this space."
In the past few years, Intelerad has acquired several cardiovascular companies, including LUMEDX
, a developer of healthcare analytics and cardiovascular information systems; Digisonics
, which makes cardiovascular information and structured reporting systems; and HeartIT
, a clinical workflow automation provider.
"This collaboration aligns with Intelerad's ongoing expansion of its enterprise imaging offerings in the cardiology space and provides our customers the latest innovations in medical imaging AI," said Intelerad chief product officer AJ Watson about the DiA partnership, in a statement.
