The ACR, ARRS Explore Collaborative Efforts

by Barbara Kram, Editor | May 28, 2008
Two medical organizations
discuss collaboration
The American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) are exploring increased collaborative efforts to benefit members of both organizations and advance the profession of radiology.

The potential relationship would seek to leverage the best services and offerings from both organizations to better meet the needs of radiologists and medical physicists.

Leaders of both organizations are engaged in dialogue to evaluate the feasibility and scope of such collaboration.

To facilitate this process, during the ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference (AMCLC) 2008, the ACR Council passed Resolution 28F, which makes minor adjustments to ACR Bylaws to allow the process to move forward.

The changes outlined in the resolution would not take effect unless and until a written memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding the collaboration is drafted and signed by the ACR and ARRS.

Both organizations will continue to update members and radiology stakeholders regarding the status of this collaboration.

Please visit the ACR and ARRS Web sites for further updates regarding this important issue.
