Greensboro- Cone Health leader Fredrick Gainey has been promoted to the new role of vice president of operations for Alamance Regional Medical Center. Fred Gainey, VP of Operations at Alamance Regional
Gainey will drive improvement in key performance indicators such as quality of care and patient satisfaction. This work, with hospital and system-wide leaders, on operational excellence will lead to even higher levels of care for our patients and communities.
Gainey rejoined Cone Health in 2024 after consulting and serving as vice president of Lean Transformation for Rite Aid. Prior to that, he spent over a decade at Cone Health, with the last seven as executive director of Lean Transformation. Gainey also co-led Cone Health's COVID-19 vaccine deployment strategy. He began his career at Cone Health in 2012 as the system-wide manager for quality improvement.

Gainey received his MBA from UNC-Greensboro and his bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech University.
