GE HealthCare has introduced Genesis Radiology Workspace, a cloud-native solution designed to streamline imaging workflows and support remote diagnostic interpretation.

Anchored by Genesis View, a 510(k) pending diagnostic viewer, the platform is intended to support radiologists facing increased imaging volumes, rising case complexity, and staffing shortages. The company says the system offers high-performance 2D and 3D visualization, customizable user interfaces, and integration with its existing Genesis portfolio of cloud tools.

Genesis View operates as a zero-footprint viewer, meaning it can be accessed without local installation, enabling radiologists to read from virtually any location. The viewer also connects directly to GE HealthCare’s Advanced Visualization (AW) suite, and supports AI-assisted reading with user-defined prioritization for critical findings. Radiologists retain the ability to reject or modify AI-generated results, including those from third-party applications.
The platform uses FHIRcast-based interoperability to facilitate smoother connections with electronic medical records and other healthcare IT systems.

Citing industry data, GE HealthCare noted that radiologists spend over half their time on noninterpretive tasks, such as navigating complex software or waiting for image load times — factors that can delay diagnoses. The company positions Genesis Radiology Workspace as a way to reduce cognitive burden and improve efficiency across imaging departments.
