GE HealthCare has received FDA 510(k) clearance for View, a diagnostic imaging viewer designed for use within the company’s Genesis Radiology Workspace.
The Chicago-based company said the viewer is intended to provide radiologists with browser-based access to diagnostic images without requiring locally installed software. View functions as the central viewing component of the Genesis platform, which also includes Enterprise Archive and Workflow Manager.
According to GE HealthCare, the software is built as a zero-footprint viewer, meaning clinicians can access imaging studies through a web browser rather than dedicated workstations. The system supports diagnostic reading with 2D and 3D visualization tools and integrates with the platform’s advanced visualization applications.

Radiologists often spend a significant portion of their workday on noninterpretive tasks, including navigating imaging software and waiting for studies to load. One study published in Radiography found that such tasks can account for up to 44% of radiologists’ time, potentially affecting reporting turnaround and workflow efficiency.
“View is designed to meet radiologists wherever they are, providing secure, high-performance access to diagnostic imaging through a truly cloud-native experience,” said Scott Miller, CEO of solutions for enterprise imaging at GE HealthCare. “By removing traditional infrastructure barriers, we’re enabling faster collaboration, greater flexibility, and more streamlined workflows across care teams. View within the Genesis Workspace reflects our commitment to modernizing radiology in ways that support clinicians and, ultimately, improve patient care.”
The viewer is designed to allow clinicians to interpret imaging studies remotely while maintaining diagnostic image quality. GE HealthCare said the software also incorporates artificial intelligence-enabled tools intended to support image analysis and clinical decision-making.
“This next-generation viewer will set a new standard and could offer the ability to complete almost all of a radiologists’ work in a single, streamlined workspace so they can focus on patient care,” said Dr. Laurie Sebastiano, who serves on GE HealthCare’s advisory board.
GE HealthCare said the product may not yet be available in all markets.
