"The conference was very nice. The dominance of China is obvious and the number one thing I took from the show," said Moshe Alkalay, President, Hi Tech Int'l Group, Boca Raton, FL. "Because no FDA is required and price drives the South American market, China is the answer. It used to be a little bit and now it's really dominant. He noted that China sells new equipment at prices below market rates for used equipment. "First it was monitors, now ultrasound and the next thing you know it will be X-ray, CT and MR," he said of possible future offerings of inexpensive new equipment from China.
