MALVERN, Pa., September 27, 2005 - Siemens Medical Solutions announced today it has developed a Web-based e-learning program comprised of self-administered tutorial courses that focus on disease-centric segments including cardiology, oncology, neurology, and women's health. The program provides eligibility for continued medical education (CME) credits offered by the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA).

Designed for Siemens' customers, this learning program is particularly beneficial to medical system technologists seeking familiarization with the disease-relevant functionality of Siemens' latest diagnostic imaging and therapy products. Modalities addressed in the program include angiography/X-ray, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and radiation therapy.

"With the healthcare industry growing at such a fast pace, it is becoming more challenging for our customers and employees to learn about new technology and advances in the medical field," said Nanci Wozniak, director, clinical applications and education. "With the creation of this Web-based e-learning program, physicians and healthcare professionals can meet educational requirements with ease and comfort, and earn CME credits which ultimately are necessary for state licensing."

Web-based e-learning sessions focusing on cardiology began in September 2005 with segments on mammography, oncology, and neurology to follow.

CME credits offered by Siemens' Web-based e-learning program are courtesy of AHRA, a premier association of managers in the imaging sciences, providing the education necessary to succeed in today's rapidly changing healthcare environment.
