Just in time for the new year, Gammex, Middleton, WI has introduced and highlighted several technologies for testing and accreditation of critical imaging equipment.
The new Gammex 156D Stereotactic Mammographic Accreditation Phantom was designed to test the performance of digital mammographic systems currently used for stereotactic biopsy and localization by a quantitative evaluation of the system's ability to image small structures similar to those found clinically.
The Gammex 156D can help determine if mammographic systems can detect small structures that are important in the early detection of cancer. The phantom is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Automated CT Software
Gammex's new 464-ACTS Automated CT Software provides automated data analysis for the ACR accreditation CT Phantom 464. The software will help medical physicists significantly reduce their time spent analyzing the results of the scan by providing results in report form which will allow the physicist to simplify and speed up the quality control process. The software removes the tedium of drawing and placing ROI's and other required graphical measurement tools while assuring accuracy and precision of the test results.
Mini-Doppler System
Gammex's new 1430 Mini-Doppler System, designed to provide sonographers with advanced design features that allow for both Doppler and B-mode Ultrasound system tests in one unit. This self-contained system provides a broad range of stable and pulse flow rates and test objects.
The Gammex 1430 is based on the proven 404GS LE model that incorporates the best tissue mimicking gel on the market, which provides a smoother background texture for measuring image quality of small parts and intra-cavity ultrasound scanning systems. The system, powered by a built-in Li/ion rechargeable battery, is an all-in-one, user friendly, compact and portable system.
Gammex Inc. located in Middleton, WI is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of Gammex Lasers and quality control devices for medical imaging and radiation therapy for over 35 years.
