One Source Distributors, Inc. based in Oceanside, has had employees enrolled in the program for almost three years. According to the company's Director of Human Resources Jan Pruett, myWellness360 has worked very well for her company. "One of our employees had the scan last year and caught something early so, we're all pretty excited. This year we had enough people so they're bringing the equipment to our site to do all the tests," she says.
What attracted Pruett to the program was the "win-win" proposition for employee and employer. "The membership fee is charged on pre-tax income to the employee and there's no cost to the employer," she says. "Employees get about a 40 percent reduction in cost for the services, but it's more like a 60 percent reduction when you include the tax benefit. And the employer gets the credit for adding a great `feel good' benefit."
The program has attracted the attention of human resource managers from dozens of businesses and organizations in Southern California. Among long-term clients are the San Diego Municipal Employees Association, the San Diego Teachers Fringe Benefits Consortium, Guess? Jeans, and other businesses located in San Diego, Imperial, and Orange Counties. The company currently services an enrollment pool of more than 100,000 employees in Southern California.
