A veterinary clinic out of Virginia had a 1993 Picker 2000S CT in a 1991 GM Calumet RV that was previously used by a doctor who no longer worked at the facility. The equipment was no longer in use and had been sitting on their lot for eight months. The facility decided it was time to attempt to sell the unit with hopes of recouping a small amount for their troubles, somewhere in the range of $5,000 to $9,000.

A DOTmed.com Auction Specialist, Colm Ford, spoke with the facility and explained the benefits of allowing DOTmed to manage the unit in an auction for them.

After just the first Auction cycle, the Auction closed successfully for $17,000.

The facility received more than double what they were initially hoping to receive for the equipment while a buyer got the equipment he was looking to purchase. In the end, two facilities were well-served. The first received additional revenue and the second is now better-equipped to serve clients.

Auction #8789
2002 Siemens Nova 3000 Mammo Unit

DOTmed Regional Manager, Brett Foley, visited JPS Health Network located in Fort Worth, TX.

After meeting Robert Michel of JPS, Brett soon discovered they had a 2002 Siemens Nova 3000 Mammo unit that they no longer needed. JPS was interested in selling the equipment but was unsure of how to do so.

Brett explained how the DOTmed Full-Service Managed Auctions worked. He also explained how DOTmed Full-Service Managed Auctions reached the largest qualified audience that would be interested in the equipment he wanted to sell. Robert agreed to give it a try.

Brett gathered the photos and specifications of the unit. He then provided this information to Auction team at DOTmed headquarters in New York. The team created an Auction for the equipment and began to market the Auction to potential buyers.

Within the first Auction cycle, the Auction received seven bids, but all were below the reserve price. Instead of repeating the Auction cycle, Online Auction Specialist, Mark Colavecchio, spoke with Robert and it was decided to relaunch the Auction with a "Purchase It" price of $3500. Within minutes, a bidder from Romania exercised the "Purchase It" option which ended the Auction.

Mr. Colavecchio worked with the Successful Bidder on locating companies who could deinstall, crate, and ship to Romania. Both the seller and the buyer are very happy with the ease of the process and how DOTmed.com is willing to do what it takes to provide service excellence.

Auction #8850
Biodex Complete Hot Lab

Don Heine, the owner of a Private Practice, contacted DOTmed looking to sell his equipment quickly. He had recently closed his practice and was looking to sell his equipment before moving.

Previous efforts made by Heine proved unsuccessful - he had not received any offers and was told his Hot Lab equipment was almost worthless. However, by running his equipment twice in a DOTmed Auction, he was able to sell the equipment for $8,500 - hardly worthless.

Due to the great success of the Sale he has also agreed to sell his Nuclear Gamma Camera through a DOTmed Auction as well. It quickly received an offer of $6,000; much higher than any offer he had received by a broker. The Auction will continue to run until he moves on with a heavier wallet and a weight off his shoulders.
