A top New York hospital came to DOTmed Managed Auction Services for pricing on their 2004 OrthOne Extremity MRI. The Auction Management Team went over pricing analytics and gave a recommendation based on information culled from DOTmed’s data network.
Based on that information, the hospital was given an average sales price of around $90,000 while dealers were actively quoting them at $30,000-$40,000.00. The recommendation was given to the hospital to hold the auction at a high reserve of $110,000 with a low starting bid of $30,000. The hospital placed the system up for auction and let the DOTmed Auction Team do the rest.
When the unit was placed for auction there was immediate response from multiple parties showing interest in the $90-110K range. DOTmed sent engineers to the site to survey for deinstall quotes and to determine a removal path that would be least disrupting for the hospital.

Within one two-week Auction Cycle, DOTmed was able to sell the MRI for $130,000 — $90,000 over dealer offers on the unit. DOTmed also sold the RF Doors for an added profit!
