ST. PAUL, Minn., CHICAGO, Ill., December 1, 2005 - Allscripts (Nasdaq: MDRX), a leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare and IDX Systems Corporation (Nasdaq: IDXC), a leading provider of healthcare information systems, have announced that HealthEast Care System has selected and will deploy both the TouchWorks Electronic Health Record from Allscripts and the IDX Flowcast revenue cycle management system from IDX in their clinics.

As a community-focused healthcare system, HealthEast Clinics were in need of a solution that would work seamlessly and enhance the delivery of medical care in a complex setting, providing the groups 117 physicians across 11 locations with the decision support tools they require.

"In our evaluation, the combined IDX and Allscripts solution clearly emerged as not only the best solution on the market, but also one of the most common solutions for groups of our size and complexity," said Ronald Strachan, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of HealthEast Care System. "As we deploy the Allscripts Electronic Health Record with the IDX revenue cycle management system, we will not only see improvements to our financial performance as a direct result of providing a better overall experience for our patients, our providers and our staff."

Flowcast and TouchWorks share common standards for navigation and user interface design, and maintain patient context throughout the combined solution. With a single login and a simple point and click interface, users can access important clinical, financial and administrative information from anywhere in either system. The end result is a seamless experience for the user.

"HealthEast Care System was in need of an integrated solution that would provide physicians and patients with the tools to create a safer, more efficient healthcare system," said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Allscripts. "Our track record of delivering results for many of the nation's leading medical groups proves that healthcare transformation starts with the selection of the right solutions, and we applaud HealthEast for taking this first step towards clinical automation."

The combined solution tackles both cost and quality concerns by putting a patient's clinical information into the hands of the physician at the point of care while facilitating peak business performance through integrated registration, scheduling and billing functionality. Implementing the Flowcast patient access, billing and reimbursement solutions will enable HealthEast to increase organizational efficiencies, optimize the revenue cycle and improve patient service.
