A cosmetic surgery facility ran into a difficult situation and needed a solution quickly. A surgeon who had purchased and was clinically using a Candela Gentle Yag Laser recently left the facility and left a large problem. The organization ended up with the laser as well as a large bill for the money still owed on the equipment.
They had shopped the Laser around to a group of local vendors but the offers were far below what they could reasonably accept. At the prices they were being offered, they would rather keep it for clinical use as a back-up. When the bidding reached $13,000, the seller contacted their Auction manager eager to take the offer. The auction team advised the doctors to keep the Auction running for the time allotted knowing there was a good chance the auction would generate better offers.
At the close of the Auction, the laser sold for $17,000 exceeding their expectations and solving their problem.
