In February 2010 an Imaging Center in Providence, R.I. decided to try DOTmed to sell their KODAK Cassette Reader. Based on past history using local brokers, their expectations of getting a solid return were extremely low.
DOTmed Auction Managers consulted the seller on higher price expectations resulting in a higher reserve. Despite some doubts from the imaging center, they agreed to list for the higher reserve.

DOTmed ran the auction for a two-week cycle and after a successful global promotion, the bids not only exceeded the reserve, but actually closed at more than double the reserve. The global reach of DOTmed paid off and the unit was repurposed to a hospital in India.
