Carestream said last week it has begun shipping its new mobile digital X-ray, the DRX-Revolution. The exact number of orders wasn't disclosed in the news release, but the Rochester, N.Y. based company said "dozens" of health care centers around the world have placed one.
The DRX-Revolution debuted at the Radiologist Society of North America's annual meeting last fall, and only got
Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance in April. As DOTmed News said in our
pre-RSNA write-up last fall, the device features two monitors for syncing up images, a collapsible column for easier navigation of hospital corridors, and dual drive, to allow 360-degree turns in tight spaces. The system integrates with Carestream's DRX family of detectors.
