Swiss-based Medical Equipment Solutions and Applications (MESA) and Poland-based MVS announced on Tuesday that they have officially entered into a strategic partnership that they hope will advance multi-vendor offerings for diagnostic imaging service, equipment, and parts across Europe.

The strategic alliance includes MESA assuming a minority ownership position in MVS. Sebastian Cienki, president of MVS, will also join MESA as the vice president of Pan-European Diagnostic Imaging Service.

"This investment builds upon our strong business relationship in delivering diagnostic imaging service in Poland, expanding our collaboration to enhance MESA's and MVS's delivery of reliable, cost-effective diagnostic imaging service solutions to health care providers across Europe," said Rob Piconi, executive chairman of MESA Group Holdings, in a statement. As part of the deal, Piconi will take a seat on the managing board of MVS.

Both companies operate facilities that not only house equipment and parts but also serve as multi-vendor training centers for service engineers from across Europe. With demand growing for more cost-effective service solutions, the companies believe this partnership will more rapidly advance the quality of service for health care providers seeking this route.

"This transaction is an excellent opportunity for both MVS and MESA to take a leading role in the cross-European market, in creating the foundations for further development of independent service organizations," said Cienki.
