Siemens AG announced a number of changes to its upper-management team on Monday.
As of February 1, Hermann Requardt, the CEO of the company's health care business, will be replaced by current CEO of Imaging & Therapy Systems at Healthcare, Bernd Montag. Requardt who has held the position since 2008 will also be stepping down from the Managing Board after nearly nine years, but will remain accessible in an advisory capacity.
Meanwhile, Janina Kugel will join the Managing Board. Additionally, Michael Reitermann has been appointed as a member of the executive management and Michael Sen, will step in as chief financial officer of the company's health care business, which is separately managed within Siemens AG.

All the changes were by mutual consent according to a statement from the company.
Siemens stated that the changes will help pave the way for a "generation change at the launch of the new health care company." The company will be a separate legal entity according to Siemens AG.
Back in August, DOTmed News
reported on the announcement from Cerner Corporation about the planned acquisition of Siemens Health Services - the health information technology business unit, for $1.3 billion cash. The deal is expected to be finalized first quarter of this year.
