Richardson Healthcare announced earlier this week that it opened a new headquarters in Amsterdam that will distribute diagnostic imaging replacement parts and provide training. This was the company’s response to Europe’s increasing demand for high-quality and lower-cost parts.

“Our presence in Europe is directly in line with our goal of helping hospitals and third-party service organizations around the world lower costs,” Pat Fitzgerald, executive vice president and general manager of Richardson Healthcare, said in a statement. “This is an important time for imaging service providers, and we are excited to bring a local parts and training solution to this market.”

This facility is an extension of the offerings and expertise of South Carolina-based International Medical Equipment and Service (IMES), which Richardson Electronics acquired in June 2015. IMES offers a broad selection of replacement parts, an interactive training center, testing bays and technicians who provide 24-hour customer support.

The Amsterdam facility will have quality assurance testing bays, classrooms and a replacement parts inventory. Richardson Healthcare believes that it will be ideal for quickly shipping replacement parts throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

This year, Richardson Healthcare will be exhibiting at the European Congress of Radiology show in Vienna, Austria this week. A few of the things on display are its replacement parts, tubes, technical support and service training for major brands of CT and MR equipment, the Thales’ ArtPix EZ2GO DR system and on-demand MR coil solutions.
