As patients put more of their rising deductibles on credit cards, hackers are coming up with new strategies to steal that data. Health systems and hospitals must anticipate and thwart their efforts with more sophisticated solutions.

They must also recognize the dangers posed by non-compliance with the standards meant to keep hospitals a step ahead of the hackers. P2PE encryption and tokenization are two ways to protect cardholder data, retain patient trust, and meet those security standards.
