FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A. Inc. and Renovo Solutions have partnered to offer customers multi-vendor service options. As part of the service, the companies will perform routine maintenance and manage medical imaging and biomedical equipment.

Renovo Solutions provides facilities with health care technology management solutions as well as advice and consulting to help them reduce costs and improve the performance of their medical equipment.

Fujifilm formed this alliance with Renovo Solutions because its customers requested a single supplier MVS relationship. This strategy allows each customer to select an option for maintenance that suits their needs.

Other medical imaging companies like Philips Healthcare, GE Healthcare and Siemens Healthineers also offer their customers MVS options. In February 2010, GE rolled out its AssurePoint Multi-Vendor Services, and Philips launched its RightFit service program in June 2011.

Hospitals are switching to MVS to lessen the complexity and expense of having separate service agreements. A 300-bed hospital could have 4,000 devices covered by 100 different service contracts with 50 or more different vendors, according to a GE whitepaper.

“We want health care providers to select an option for maintenance that fits the needs of their bottom line, while ensuring that all Fujifilm products continue to meet OEM quality standards and stringent regulatory benchmarks, enabling the crucial work of patient care to go uninterrupted," Martin Spence, vice president of service and support operations at Fujifilm, said in a statement.
