GE Healthcare and Navicent Health in Georgia announced a six-year partnership on Thursday, with the goal of saving the health system $150 million.
This marks GE’s sixth deal of its kind since it started entering these long-term, risk-sharing relationships in the past two years.
Over the course of the partnership, GE will provide resources, expertise, advanced analytics and proprietary tools to improve Navicent Health’s clinical, operational and financial outcomes. The health system wants to create what it calls a "One Navicent Health" continuum of care.

"GEHC and Navicent are already underway on a variety of projects that include helping to drive operational improvements, reducing variation, and building processes that support the people delivering care," Helen Stewart, managing principal of GE Healthcare Partners, told HCB News. "All activities are aligned around reducing the cost it takes to provide high quality care."
She added that connecting analytics, technology and operations, enables the physicians and staff to spend more time with their patients and less time coordinating care and operations. The resulting reduction in wasted time translates to better care at a lower cost.
The organizations will also keep abreast of industry trends and meet the current needs of the community in central Georgia. For instance, GE will help Navicent Health build operational pathways to streamline patient flow and develop analytics that provide clinicians with the information they need to make real-time decisions.
Navicent Health has 970 beds for medical, surgical, rehabilitation and hospice needs. It provides community-based, outpatient diagnostic, primary care, home health and hospice care, cancer, and rehabilitation services.
