ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA, June 20, 2007 -- GE Healthcare will provide more than $30 million in equipment and services to the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, scheduled to open for patients in summer 2008. GE Healthcare was uniquely positioned to help identify the various needs of the hospital and meet them with equipment that is among the most innovative and technologically advanced on the market.

The partnership was announced at a product exhibition where hospital staff was invited to view the new equipment. The joint announcement was made by The Honourable George Abbott, Minister of Health, British Columbia and Joe Sardi, Country General Manager, GE Healthcare, Canada. Both recognized the leadership and hard work of the Fraser Health Authority, Provincial Health Services Authority, the BC Cancer Agency, Access Health Abbotsford, the private sector partner on the project, Partnerships BC and the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District.
