New Haven, CT - Carestream Molecular Imaging, a division of Carestream Health, Inc., has introduced new KODAK X-SIGHT Large Stokes Shift Dye Conjugates for fluorescent imaging applications, expanding the KODAK X-SIGHT Imaging Agent family of products.

Scientists now have a superior fluorescent dye solution for both in vitro and in vivo applications. KODAK X-SIGHT Large Stokes Shift Dye Conjugates are easy to use and are ideal for western blotting applications, which use gel electrophoresis to separate proteins from a sample of cell or tissue based on molecular weight and size, and microscopy.

This new product further extends the line of novel, reactive dyes that leverage 50 years of Kodak dye chemistry expertise. There are no other commercially available dyes that naturally have a large Stokes shift in the near infra-red range, making this a truly novel and innovative product.
KODAK X-SIGHT Large Stokes Shift Dye Conjugates are available conjugated to a variety of secondary antibodies in two distinct excitation and emission wavelengths in the near infrared range. To minimize cross reactivity, the secondary antibodies have been affinity purified and highly cross-adsorbed.

Large Stokes Shift: Less Background, More Signal

"Stokes shift" refers to the separation of absorption and emission maxima. Most commercially available dyes typically have a Stokes shift between 20-30 nanometers. Having a significantly larger Stokes shift-greater than 85 nanometers in the case of KODAK X-SIGHT Dyes allows researchers to excite and emit the dyes at their maxima, thus resulting in far greater signal to noise and superior brightness. With their near infrared emission and large Stokes shift, the Kodak X-Sight Large Stokes Shift Dye Conjugates will allow researchers to achieve a higher level of sensitivity that will lead to the detection of smaller amounts of target biomolecules, and provide an incredibly bright and robust platform for translating molecular imaging experiments from in vitro to in vivo applications.

While the KODAK X-SIGHT Imaging Agents have been optimized for KODAK In-Vivo Imaging Systems and KODAK Image Stations, they are also compatible with other commercially available digital imaging systems. Together with KODAK Molecular Imaging Systems, the KODAK X-SIGHT Imaging Agent product line further expands the breadth of leading edge solutions offered from Carestream Molecular Imaging to the medical research community to accelerate life science and drug discovery research.
