Medline Industries has completed its acquisition of Ecolab's global surgical solutions business, including the Microtek product lines.
The integration of Ecolab's surgical solutions business enhances Medline's portfolio with advanced sterile drape solutions, surgical products, and OEM capabilities. This move aligns with Medline's strategy to expand its offerings and reinforce its position in the medical supply market.
"We are thrilled to officially welcome the nearly 3,500 Microtek surgical solutions business team members to the Medline family," said Jim Pigott, president and chief operating officer for Medline. "Our surgical solutions business is poised for a bright future as we continue to provide exceptional service and innovative solutions to our customers. With this acquisition, we are eager to collaborate with healthcare providers and cutting-edge medical device companies to bring innovative solutions to the surgical suite."
Medline emphasizes its commitment to ensuring a smooth transition for employees, customers, and partners. The company aims to maintain high service standards throughout the integration process.
Last year it opened a
710,000-square-foot distribution center in Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as
a $75 million LEED-certified facility in St. Peters, Missouri; and
opened a $72 million warehouse in Louisiana, the largest medical distribution center in the state, to process more than $200 million worth of orders annually.
In 2022 it began operations at its $125 million, 1.4 million-square-foot LEED-certified facility in Grayslake, Illinois, which is the
largest medical-grade distribution center in the U.S.
Medline is rumored to be in the early stages of
going public at a $50 billion valuation, which would likely place it among the biggest IPOs of 2025.
Medline is headquartered in Northfield, Illinois, and employs over 39,000 people globally, operating in more than 100 countries and territories. The Microtek acquisition was first announced in April 2024.
