SGMC Health has announced a series of changes to its main campus in Valdosta, Georgia, as part of a $150 million expansion effort.

The expansion includes a new women and infants tower with a dedicated entrance, a new emergency department and trauma center, and the relocation of the hospital's main entrance to Woodrow Wilson Drive.

SGMC Health is a key healthcare provider in South Georgia, serving 400,000 patients annually across 15 counties. It operates four hospitals and numerous primary and specialty care centers. The system's services, particularly in heart, stroke, trauma, cancer, and women's health, contribute over $1 billion to the region's economy.

The construction, set to span two years, will take place near the Dasher Heart Center, patient tower, and emergency department.

Despite the closure of the Dasher/Outpatient Center entrance, all services will remain fully operational throughout the project.
