FUJIFILM Sonosite has introduced Sonosite iLOOK, a compact point-of-care ultrasound system designed specifically for vascular access procedures.
The Bothell, Washington-based company said the system combines a dedicated user interface with a wireless transducer and flexible mounting options to support bedside vascular access workflows.
Unlike general-purpose ultrasound platforms, Sonosite iLOOK is intended solely for vascular access applications. The system supports arterial, venous and peripheral intravenous (PIV) examinations and includes B-mode, Color Velocity Doppler and Color Power Doppler imaging.

The wireless transducer weighs about 170 grams and is designed to reduce cable management around the bedside. The system also includes VESA-compatible mounting options for use in different clinical settings and an integrated charging dock with visual status indicators.

The new solution complements our broader point-of-care ultrasound portfolio while giving vascular access teams a streamlined, easy-to-use system that they can rely on.”
Dennis Giacomino, chief commercial officer at FUJIFILM Sonosite, said the product builds on the company's earlier iLOOK platform, first introduced in 2003.
"Since the launch of our original Sonosite iLOOK 25 system in 2003, FUJIFILM Sonosite has remained dedicated to offering specialized vascular access solutions within our product portfolio. In developing the new Sonosite iLOOK, we carefully considered the challenges faced by our customers today to ensure this solution effectively addresses their needs," Giacomino said.
Sonosite said the new system is intended to complement existing point-of-care ultrasound equipment by providing a dedicated device for vascular access, allowing broader ultrasound platforms to remain available for other imaging applications. The company also noted that users will have access to vascular access education and training resources through the Sonosite Institute.
The company did not disclose pricing or availability.
