As the way operating rooms look and how surgeons perform continues to change, those who can “C” into the future of C-arms say integration will likely keep transforming what companies offer in terms of both mobile and fixed C-arms. Fixed C-arms will continue evolving to be part of hybrid ORs and “combo” cath labs, Daher says, while the shift to FPD C-arms and the increased number of procedures those provide should be on its way, experts say, as long as there’s a need.

“The driver is the clinical applications,” says Herbert Westin, senior director of product marketing surgery and women’s health for Siemens Healthcare. “Wherever there are new procedures, the C-arm will help in achieving those goals.”
