SMIT Conference This Month in Japan

SMIT 2007 will
take place in
Sendai, Japan,
November 20-22, 2007.
Almost two hundred abstracts from 20 countries have been received. For the Society of Medical Innovations and Technology 19th international conference, Sendai, Japan, November 20-22, 2007. The program committee has reviewed all papers and selected 167 oral or poster presentations. The abstracts will be published in the MITAT journal prior to the conference in Sendai.

The "John Wickham Lecture", the highlight of SMIT meeting this year will be made by Professor Akiko Uchida on November 21. The lecture title is "Evolution of the human mind - beyond bones and stones". Professor Akiko Uchida, a biological anthropologist, will reveal why we are so fascinated with new technologies and what is underlining our endless desire for device development.

The affordable registration is JPY 20,000 (125Euro, 165 USD), to encourage attendance by young colleagues. The fees includes any session of theAnnual Meeting of Japan Society of Endoscopic Surgery (JSES) held at the same time in Sendai.
