The CXDI-60G Digital
Radiography System
features Canon’s renowned
flat panel technology
in a lightweight, ergonomic
portable detector.
Lake Success, NY -- Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging technologies, announced expansion of its line of digital radiography (DR) systems, with the introduction of the Canon CXDI-60G Portable Flat Panel Detector. The ninth-generation flat panel detector extends DR beyond traditional applications to include room-to-room installations, mobile X-ray systems and more.
The Canon CXDI-60G succeeds the company's popular CXDI-31, the world's first portable cassette-type DR system, introduced in September 2001. Offering a more ergonomic and portable form than its predecessor, the CXDI-60G realizes a new level of freedom and immediacy for diagnosis in the X-ray room and beyond. It provides a variety of configuration options to help fit the exact requirements of a facility or practice, while delivering high-quality images with minimal X-ray exposure to patients.
Weighing just 5.9 pounds and measuring less than an inch thick, the lightweight and slim-body Canon CXDI-60G, is the ideal size for orthopedic departments, trauma, neonatal and mobile X-ray systems that would benefit from easy handling and portability. The portable detector offers an effective imaging area of 9 x 11 inches, accommodating a diverse range of applications, including the X-raying of hands, elbows, feet and knees, among the most common orthopedic examinations.

Additionally, Canon's proprietary control software, which supports enhanced image-processing performance, contributes to increased diagnostic accuracy by making possible X-ray images optimized for the area being examined. X-ray images can be confirmed on an optional preview monitor approximately three seconds after exposure and transmitted almost immediately over the hospital network to other workstations and printers -- and can be archived for fast and easy data sharing. Canon DR technology provides speed, efficiency, and a streamlined workflow to meet diverse needs, including support for off-site diagnosis and proficient patient and emergency care.
The added benefits of the portable detector include low power consumption and a detachable sensor cable for convenient maintenance and installation. The model's detachable sensor cable, which provides power to the unit and transfers data, enables easy room-to-room installation from multiple locations such as the patient's bedside or wheelchair, trauma or ICU (with an optional power box and PC) and fits right into most neo-natal incubator trays.
Backed by Canon's strong optical and imaging heritage, the Canon CXDI-60G, "offers outstanding image quality and superb DR versatility in portable flat panel solutions," said Tsuneo Imai, senior director and general manager of Medical Systems Division, Canon U.S.A.
Optical and Imaging Heritage of Canon's extensive optical imaging heritage has allowed the Company to make a significant mark in the medical imaging market, particularly when it comes to high-quality, affordable DR solutions and innovations. With its solid heritage and expertise as a foundation, Canon continues to develop and deliver medical imaging solutions that will support its status as an industry innovator for years to come.
