BC Technical continues its year of aggressive acquisitions with its sixth — and only two weeks after announcing the fifth. This time it's bringing Legacy Medical Imaging into the fold.

As with the company's previous acquisitions, the move will increase BC Technical's engineering talent pool while also giving them greater size to compete against manufacturers.

"BC Technical is singularly focused on providing first-class service and solutions to our growing list of clients," said Mark Alvarez, president and CEO of BC Technical, in a statement. "The addition of Legacy Medical Imaging to our team solidifies our position as the only true alternative to the OEM."

In a letter to its customers, the company wrote:

We know that you have choices for purchasing or servicing your diagnostic imaging equipment, and we appreciate your trust in helping make BC Technical the largest non-OEM diagnostic imaging solutions provider for CT, MR, NM and PET systems from GE, Siemens, Philips, Toshiba and Hitachi.

Legacy Medical Imaging is based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and services CT and MR systems throughout the U.S. Mike Webster, company CEO, said the company spent fifteen years building up its reputation and referred to being acquired by BC Technical as a way to take the business to the "next level."

"I met with a number of companies and determined that BC Technical is best suited to continue, and improve, the service and support our customers have become accustomed to," said Webster.

On December 2, BC Technical announced it had acquired MagnaServ Enterprises. Earlier this year the company completed acquisitions of Atlas Medical Technologies, Ohio Valley Medical Systems, Eclipse Systems, and Virtual Medical Sales.
